Backflow Preventer Assembly Testing in Wyoming is regulated by the Department of Environmental Quality, where most if not all cities and water purveyors in the state directly mention Chapter 12 as the requirements regarding water supply distribution. Chapter 12 - Page 70 outlines that a tester must be certified through a test by ASSE, ABPA, or equivalent. We have submitted our info to the state and have done classes in Wyoming where the authority having jurisdiction has accepted our 40-hour certification without any third party exams, although the approval is not clearly posted.
The APBA and our single party exams use the USC 10th Edition testing procedures. On our YouTube Channel, we created a series of videos where we test the four types of preventers using these procedures:
Reduced Pressure Principle (RPZ) - USC 2-Valve Procedures
Double Check Valve Assembly (DCV) - USC Procedures
Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) - USC Procedures
Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SVB) - USC Procedures
