Backflow Testing in Maine is regulated by the Division of Environmental and Community Health, they have more info on their requirements here - https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/environmental-health/dwp/sitemap/crossConnections.shtml - we have submitted our New England Region Backflow Tester Program for approval with the state, and feedback from students lends to their acceptance of our program as equivalent to the others listed, but currently the way their site reads it may not be accepted in all cases by all parties.
We are longstanding members and partners with the American Backflow Prevention Association ( ABPA ) which is listed on their website, and can proctor ABPA exams, so it may be required that you take our course and then take their third party exam for acceptance with all parties in the State of Maine. Our New England Program's written and practical exams are administered similarly to ABPA, but ABPA is nationally recognized as the Gold Standard for third party exam integrity and record keeping, and should be an aspiration for all backflow testers to maintain certification and membership with the organization.
We have found the USC-10th Edition testing procedures to be the most efficient. On our YouTube Channel, we created a video breaking down the USC 10th Edition procedures and diagnostics for all four types of backflow assemblies:
The Complete Guide to Testing Backflow Preventers - By the Book

This course is the Maine version of Kruger Training Academy's New England Region Backflow Tester Program and is done concurrently with other programs. The goal is to have 6 different programs meeting all 6 states' requirements, but have the curriculum integrated in such a way that the core materials are the same. We include an overview of the 6 requirements and a breakdown on the next steps to become registered with all entities required. Often testers are only seeking certification in one or two states in the region, but sometimes they are seeking certification for many or all of them. The New England Region Backflow Tester Program is not valid in New York or other states, only in New England, if seeking certification in other states or regions, check out our main page www.krugerstraining.academy and pick whatever states you are interested in.
