No course or exam scheduled in your area ? Our motto is "We Are Where You Are" meaning we try to service local areas as well as possible. We have two additional programs available, links to more info below:

Private Course - We can come to your location and train only your staff, bring all props, handouts, equipment, etc., Minimum of 10 students

Host a Course - Similar to a private course, we come to your facility and train your staff, but also you allow other local technicians to attend. No minimums for these and you get 2 free students.

Approvals and Registrations

Our 32-hour backflow tester course / program is approved through the Mississippi State Department of Health, Bureau of Public Water Supply.

The course is technically 5 days including the exams, so four 8-hour days of training and then both a written and practical exam on the day following. There is a registration process with the Health Department following the courses and exams.

How Do I Become a Certified Backflow Tester in Mississippi?

In Mississippi, backflow preventer assembly testers are regulated by the Department of Health, and testers are required to take a 32-hour course administered by an approved school, and then pass the state written exam which is proctored by a representative from them.  More info on their website is linked below:

Which Backflow Prevention Testing Procedures Should I Use ?

There are a bunch of options when it comes to testing backflow preventers as far as which procedures to use. We have found that the ASSE 5000 Single Hose Procedures are most efficient if you can use them, and have fewer requirements as far as equipment, connector tees, and number of hoses and adapters needed:

On our YouTube channel, we created a series of videos where we test the four types of preventers using these procedures if you're not familiar with them:

Reduced Pressure Principle (RPZ) - ASSE 5000 Single Hose Procedures

Double Check Valve Assembly (DCV) - ASSE 5000 Single Hose Procedures

Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) - ASSE 5000 Single Hose Procedures

Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SVB) - ASSE 5000 Single Hose Procedures
