We don't currently have any open enrollment courses scheduled in the state of Nevada. We offer private courses and have a hosting program if you wanted to host a course. We also have open enrollment courses that are a similar USC based curriculum and have the same exams in California
No course scheduled in your area ? We have two additional programs available, links to more info below:
Private Course - We can come to your location and train only your staff, bring all props, handouts, equipment, etc., Minimum of 8 students for Nevada
Host a Course - Similar to a private course, we come to your facility and train your staff, but also you allow other local technicians to attend. No minimums for these and you get 2 free students. Needs to be in area that we don't already offer open enrollment courses.
There is no state level agency that regulates backflow testing in Nevada, so each water purveyor, water district, or other jurisdiction, makes their own rules. The City of Las Vegas accepts AWWA or ABPA, as well as most areas associated with a "health district" -> more info if you follow up with environmentalhealth@snhd.org - After contacting multiple jurisdictions, all of them contacted accept the AWWA or ABPA exams.
Our 40-hour course is a prep course and a completion certificate is required to apply for the ABPA or AWWA third party exam - more info on our Exam Prep Page
The APBA and AWWA exams use the USC 10th Edition testing procedures. On our YouTube Channel, we created a series of videos where we test the four types of preventers using these procedures:
Reduced Pressure Principle (RPZ) - USC 2-Valve Procedures
Double Check Valve Assembly (DCV) - USC Procedures
Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) - USC Procedures
Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SVB) - USC Procedures
