We are offering private courses only in the State of Pennsylvania, more info on our private course page - we can come to your location and train only your technicians, minimum of 10 students for Pennsylvania. Please read below and do proper research before trying to schedule a private course.
We offer open enrollment courses in New Jersey and New York that may be accepted as a reciprocal license through the local water purveyors or governments. Many purveyors use BSI or similar backflow test processing services, and generally their lists are state specific, but it's possible they may accept an out of state license as long as it is similar in length to the ones they provide. Check out our New Jersey Page or New York Page for more info.
There is no state level agency regulating testers, each local jurisdiction chooses which backflow testers to accept. Most accept either ASSE or ABPA testers, but many also accept NEWWA, TREEO, or reciprocate with neighboring states. Many purveyors use the same backflow processing software like BSI or NWS and they each have a list of approved providers, many require ASSE 5110 courses specifically but some are open to courses that are considered equivalent. Our courses are affiliated as a member with ABPA, but most of the other acronym organizations listed are separate.
We have found the USC-10th Edition testing procedures to be the most efficient. On our YouTube Channel, we created a series of videos where we test the four types of preventers using these procedures:
Reduced Pressure Principle (RPZ) - USC 2-Valve Procedures
Double Check Valve Assembly (DCV) - USC Procedures
Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) - USC Procedures
Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SVB) - USC Procedures
