For South Carolina, backflow testers are managed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), they offer their own courses and also accept many programs that are out of state. Since the classes are mostly self-performed, KTA is not able to get a state program, but from reading the website and talking with students, they should accept a Georgia certification where we offer a program through that state, more info on our Georgia Page
We do the Georgia version of our course in Augusta, GA, sometimes and the Georgia program is valid as a reciprocal license in South Carolina to our knowledge, we did send info to SCDHEC on this so they should accept the Georgia license as reciprocal.
Our Courses in Florida and Georgia utilize the USC 10th Edition testing procedures. On our YouTube Channel, we created a series of videos where we test the four types of preventers using these procedures:
Reduced Pressure Principle (RPZ) - USC 2-Valve Procedures
Double Check Valve Assembly (DCV) - USC Procedures
Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) - USC Procedures
Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SVB) - USC Procedures
