Approvals and Registrations

We hold a  formal approval from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, who regulate the licensing examinations and pre-requisite trainings for most trades and also backflow prevention testers in the state. We are listed by them on their website, second from last on the below link

How Do I Become a Certified Backflow Tester in Wisconsin?

In order to be registered as a backflow tester with Wisconsin DSPS, you need to have a  40-hour backflow course that we provide ( or similar ) and then there is an application process with the state. There is a fee ( currently $195 ) and the diploma that is issued after completion of the course, along with a form 3125 application

Which Backflow Preventer Testing Procedures Should I Use?

There are a bunch of options when it comes to testing backflow preventers as far as which procedures to use. We have found that the ASSE 5000 Single Hose Procedures are most efficient if you can use them, and have fewer requirements as far as equipment, connector tees, and number of hoses and adapters needed.

On our YouTube channel, we created a series of videos where we test the four types of preventers using these procedures if you're not familiar with them:

Reduced Pressure Principle (RPZ) - ASSE 5000 Single Hose Procedures

Double Check Valve Assembly (DCV) - ASSE 5000 Single Hose Procedures

Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) - ASSE 5000 Single Hose Procedures

Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SVB) - ASSE 5000 Single Hose Procedures
