The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency regulations 77 Ill. Adm. Code 890 requires that backflow assembly tests being done in reference to public water purveyor containment be performed by a licensed plumber with the CCCDI ( Cross Connection Control Device Inspector ) designation.
There used to be a website that clearly outlined all of this but it may have been taken down, from what we have seen through research, the only school approved for this CCCDI designation is the Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville - their program is linked here
We have found the USC-10th Edition testing procedures to be the most efficient. On our YouTube Channel, we created a series of videos where we test the four types of preventers using these procedures:
Reduced Pressure Principle (RPZ) - USC 2-Valve Procedures
Double Check Valve Assembly (DCV) - USC Procedures
Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) - USC Procedures
Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SVB) - USC Procedures
